3 March 2026
MediMap is now progressing a structured, phased restoration of its digital medication management platform, following completion of extensive remediation, forensic validation and security uplift activity.

We acknowledge the patience and professionalism of providers and their staff, who have continued to deliver care for patients and residents with manual processes during this disruption.
We also understand how concerning this situation has been for residents, patients, families and healthcare providers. We sincerely apologise for the disruption and distress caused.
We have been granted a court injunction to protect any impacted individuals’ information. The injunction prohibits any person from accessing, using, copying, sharing or publishing any MediMap data that may have been unlawfully obtained.
Before commencing restoration, we have rebuilt a secure production environment, completed a forensic review and validation of our data, identified the specific demographic records that were altered, and strengthened authentication controls, supported by independent cyber security specialists.
We are confident in the integrity of the restored environment.
Restoration will occur in clearly defined phases, which has begun rolling out from Monday 2 March.
Providers will validate specific demographic information identified during the investigation, and then they will be able to access MediMap to the recovery point immediately prior to the incident.
As digital medication management recommences, all user passwords will be reset and any medication changes made manually during the outage will require clinical review and reconciliation. Once the core system is stable, electronic prescribing via NZePS will be progressively re-enabled.
Following restoration, we will enter a stabilisation and hypercare period, with expanded support arrangements to transition back to business-as-usual operations.
We are continuing to work closely with Health New Zealand and other relevant agencies throughout this process. The phased restoration approach has been shared with Health New Zealand to ensure alignment as services are progressively restored.
Our shared objective is a safe, structured return to digital medication management that balances clinical continuity with strengthened security controls.
While the system has been offline, residents and patients have continued to receive care.
Our focus remains on restoring secure digital medication management in a controlled, clinically safe and well-
supported manner.
We will continue to provide updates as restoration progresses.
